A time to deconstruct.

Every Sunday I sit there, incense burning away in the background, tarot cards laid out in front of me and the sea in my gaze and that's when I start to feel the energy of the week ahead. I try not to snoop too hard because reading for myself in that way has always been difficult. I can't say that I can't do it but personal bias is ALWAYS a factor in that process. But, I can feel the energy of the week. I can sense when a day is going to be a problem or when something a little “sharp” might happen. It's hard to explain but it's something I've done since I was about 16. To be honest when I first started I was just trying to give myself a reading, a heads up as to what was coming. My questions were always based in fear and I always did what I could read into the week what I wanted to happen. That's the danger of reading for the self. I learned my lesson, the hard way, but at least I learned. These days I just like to see what energy I am about to dive into so that I can make the most of it. I plan my week around it. If a day looks like it's not going to go so well I add more self care to the day and if a day has better “financial” abundance based energy then that's when I do extra planning or looking at expanding my business. The point is I take a moment every week to deconstruct my life in order to make the most of it.

Goal setting is an overly saturated subject and one I have been hooked on for years. It depends on the kind of person you are really but I know in my heart that I am goal orientated. I like to have an end point to work towards. It helps me to organise myself in a way that feels cohesive. As an artist I also have had to learn to make room for a “go with the flow” attitude as well which is something I am constantly re learning. The way I have incorporated the two is to make time to listen to my intuition every day. It's all part of my meditative process and I make sure that I know that I have the option to scrap what is infront of my for the day if I feel pulled to something else. I have list upon list upon list. I think I made 7 yesterday. Not just for the week but for the purposes of dumping all the ideas in my head onto a space so that I don't have to think about them any more. I take time each week to do that, to pick apart the ideas that have been swimming around my head all week. That's where I can add something to one of my book projects or scribble down an idea for a painting or, like last night, think about creating more products and services to help my client base feel more connected.

You can't be afraid to deconstruct your life in that way. To break it down into it's smallest pieces and see what is needed and what needs to be thrown away. That's what this process does for me. It may look a little crazy from the outside looking in but taking time each week not just to plan what needs to be done but also ensure there are things that you want to do on your list is a way to keep you in a good feeling place. We can't be afraid to pull what we have apart once in a while. I advise making it a regular thing. If you have some time this morning then try it, if not then next Sunday take an hour to write down what you want to do as well as what you have to do. Use your intuition to feel the week out ahead. Ask your angels to help you create a list that will reflect your heart most and help you to serve your highest good. Be willing to change that list if need be. You also can't hold yourself hostage if things don't get done. Modern life will always get in the way and it's O.K that it does. Don't take it too seriously but do give it a go. For me, it works and I get a lot more done which in turn means more play time. If you already do it then share any tips you have below I would love to hear them!
