Are you feeling lost?

Hello loves,

Like a mis sung note in a love song the trajectory of your life just feels “off”. It's like life is still happening all around you full of it's usual noise it's just that it feels like it's happening without you. Somehow you are missing in your own life. Sometimes it's something else altogether. Sometimes a figurative bomb has dropped in the middle of your life and you are sat there with a thousand pieces desperately trying to get it all to function again. Maybe you got your heart broken? Maybe a dream you had didn't come true? Maybe you are in grief? Maybe you spent your youth preparing for a life that just doesn't seem to be getting going? Whatever has brought you to the personal truth that you feel lost in your life I would advise you to take the time to sit with it. More mistakes are often made in the running from the pain of that truth than in the facing of it.

There are many perfectly appropriate times in your life when you should be feeling a little lost. I say this so that you don't demonise the feeling or take it as a sign that you have done something wrong. Sometimes you've just outgrown the life or lifestyle that you are existing in. I have read a lot of young people who feel lost after university. At points like this in your life feeling lost is a perfectly appropriate response after having gone through such a huge experience. The same is true of a break up, a job loss, a diagnosis amongst many, many other things. Feeling lost is also a perfectly appropriate response after having survived a global pandemic. We are ALL in some way feeling for our feet at the moment and that might remian true for a while yet. Take a breath.

It's O.K to wander the earth for a little bit with no real plan. It's O.K for you to have no goals or no dreams for a period in your life. Sometimes it's just about sitting with life itself, gently observing, still taking care of yourself but just letting your mind absorb, realign, decompress and heal a little. There does come a point though when wandering starts being counter intuitive. It just stops being helpful. Please don't rush to that point. You want to come to your own life with your cup full. If you are feeling like it's time to engage but haven't got a clue what to do I have a few ideas that might help. None of them are rocket science.

Firstly, take care of your mental and physical health. Meditate, drink water, eat healthy foods and get yourself a good work out routine that suits your body. Your mind is the prism through which you digest your whole life and your body is the prism through which you receive intuition. Get these two things in order because I guarantee you there are real and genuine insights that are being given to you right now, RIGHT NOW, you are just so stuck in the idea of “lost-ness” that you can't hear them. I also advise a creative hobby. Something from your childhood is best. We are more connected to our natures as children so revisiting a playful time will spark something into motion.

There is so much I could say about this. It might be time for me soon to start writing a book with all of this stuff in. Just go gently. Remind yourself that the only destination you are ever really truly trying to get to is the feeling place of home within yourself. You get lost when you live by the rules of others and you get found when you sit with the ever unfolding truth of who you are.

Take care of your mind and body on this journey, the guidance for your next step in a whisper away.

Big love
