How often do you tell yourself how beautiful you are? How often do you really open up your heart and admit it? I hear so many people so often say mean things about themselves and about their bodies and it's become such a habit that most of the time they don't even know they're doing it. Issues around body image are ironically rarely about body image. It can be a system of control, an outlet for self hatred, a desire to conform, an expression of strength or even a system to avoid a deeper problem. It all however centres around and brings you back to the feeling of not feeling good enough.
We try and blame the media and society but nothing is given to us in that way unless we are willing to accept it. As quickly as you have taken on board those beliefs and thoughts about yourself you can surrender them. Fortunately the weight and momentum of your spirit knows your beauty. It knows it so implicitly that whenever you say a mean thing about yourself it will send you a message in the form of a crappy feeling, just to let you know that you are not viewing yourself in the same way as your spirit does. Our emotions in that way can act like a spiritual “shock collar”! When you're off course you hurt. When you're back in the eyes of your spirit you feel incredible.
There is no right or wrong in this scenario and all journeys toward self love are personal ones. Just do your best to accept where the problem really is and know that the whole of who you are does recognise your beauty even if right now you don't.
Big Love
