Seeking a better life doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with the one you have. It just means keeping that feeling place of forward momentum going no matter what the situation is you're in. What I've learned from watching people over the years is that people are happiest when they are creating, when they are being productive and when they have a goal to work towards. It doesn't matter what it is, it could be something small like learning a new instrument or taking up a new hobby. I make a small pact with myself that each year to learn something new. It doesn't have to stick but I do have to try it. From picking up a cello, to learning sewing, to yoga and tonnes of other activities and I don't put pressure on it. It doesn't matter if I stick to it and it becomes a massive part of my life. It matters that I give it a go and in that I can sometimes find a new passion. A new goal. A new thing to work towards.
I must admit that at one time I was a goal addict! I took it to a ridiculous level but in doing so I have learned now how to construct achievable goals today. I have lost any and all inclination to create tunnel vision and allow everything I want to achieve to happen easily and effortlessly in my life. That is one of my trigger words, EFFORTLESS!! If it doesn't ease into my life is a way that is absolutely congruent to a wave of peace then I'm not interested. That's not to say things don't sometimes get bumpy but it's never harsh or grated. Working some new things into your life can be so rewarding and who knows you may even find a new passion. A new quality of life is lurking behind each new thought in your head.
If you want things to be different in your life then you have to be willing to be a different person. You have to be willing to try. You have to be willing to let go and give in to the inner child within you that just wants to play more. Allow that child out and allow it to run all over your life. Ask yourself the question, what is it I want to try next? … then do it!
