Start to Laugh!

How often do you laugh? I mean to your boots laugh? To the point where you legitimately might wee yourself! How many of your friends do you laugh like this with? I have noticed for a while that there is a weird thought that is so prevalent in our culture and is without question a major contributor to an INSANE level of “justified unhappiness”. It's the thought that we have to “grow up”. The most fun and most interesting people I come across are those who have managed to keep their child-like side alive and kicking. These are the people that haven't forgotten how to play. They try new things all the time and are willing to be seen as stupid or silly because they haven't forgotten how brave it is to take risks!

I am SO lucky that I have people like this in my life. People who literally see me creased on my living room floor and not even attempting to hold it together. It's such a simple thing but you'd be surprised how many people forget to laugh. It doesn't matter what's happened in your life or where you might be headed sometimes. Sometimes it's ok to put your life on hold for an evening and get some friends in, drink a little and laugh a lot. Don't forget to do this. If you have a stressful job it is all the more important. I love creating gatherings at my house for some ridiculous reasons, someone found a “Y” in the day party or “We've forgotten to sing along to Grease” party. I just love having these little shin digs and I love to have them regularly so that everyone can have a bit of fun.

If there's no laughter at the moment in your life then create some. Throw your own party, buy some balloons, do some face painting, hire a bouncy castle, be silly, be ridiculous, stay playful. Don't wait till your birthday, the luxury of being an adult is that you don't have to wait that long any more. Do what you need to do, do everything you need to do to laugh!

Big Love
