Is compassion the best policy?

Is compassion the best policy?

Every word spoken in anger or malice is a direct result of pain. While you must always maintain a self respectful boundary I have found over the years that if you deal with every person in your life with love, no matter how they deal with you, then you create room to grow. It is how prejudice and hostility are transformed. There is no need for violent protests, this action only tends to create more of the same, you just need authenticity and loving expression. It is through this, I personally think, that the greatest longest lasting change occurs.

Of course the first person you need to deal with lovingly is yourself. Do that by creating self supportive and self caring boundaries. Self soothe regularly and treat yourself as often as you can. It is so easy to get bogged down with our normal routines that we can forget to look after ourselves so start by creating a self focussed compassionate lifestyle. Try something you've always wanted to try, go meet some friends for a coffee, just look at ways to make yourself happier. Once you have created that energy within yourself it is much easier to offer it out.

When you encounter a situation that on the surface seems over run with rage and anger remind yourself that it is only another state of pain. If someone is injured you don't kick them harder, you love them better.

Big Love
