Mistaking drama for passion.
Drama is an exaggeration, an invention, a failure or unwillingness to see something as it is. It is also a spiritual infection, a playground of the ego, it is the use of the imagination to not express but deny honesty and that always leads those involved down a path of self destruction or inflicting pain on others. It is also shockingly enough, consistently mistaken for passion. Watch any romance about star crossed lovers and cultural stories about love being oppressed or denied and you can see that we have woven together the idea that passion and pain are one in the same. I have seen this theme in many of my clients over the years and I have noticed that it is an extremely easy way to avoid the magnitude of embracing love.
Passion is spiritual conviction. It is a divine energy that embraces your spirit and moves you to a bigger and brighter version of who you are. Passion is the inner rumblings of an expression of your true self. Drama takes you away from who you are, drama is thought based and cerebral and although can inspire and manifest a great diversity of emotion it is not born of it. Passion embraces true intimacy, drama is about sharing wounds, passion is about connection, drama leads you to a place where you can mistake a counselling session for connection. Passion is relentless and enveloping and unmoving, drama is highs and lows and swings and roundabouts. Drama is an addiction and passion is a freedom.
Passion is a roadmap to love and an expression of it's true nature. Drama is all about infatuation and a need to be validated or completed. Passion is about accepting where you are and drama is about creating journeys where there are none.
Are you in passion or drama?
Big Love
