Know your beauty.
Everything about our culture has consistently choked our idea of beauty and forced it into a place that is now hurting us. I, like many of you, bought into the idea that beauty was solely constricted to ideas of sexual attraction and external validation. It took me a long time to redefine what it was and to truly understand the momentum of what true beauty really is. And what true beauty really is, is the movement towards love. I have seen in my life time some truly beautiful people with truly beautiful gifts but by our cultures current demand for conformity these attributes are constantly overlooked.
To be beautiful we are told that you have to be young or aspire to look it. You have to have a specific body type that is either athletic in nature or trimmed to the current fashion. Women must paint their faces and overtly sexualise themselves and men must increase their muscle mass and follow in the sexualisation of their character. All of these things are just the surface of what we are told beauty is but as we all know what is demanded from us can be much deeper and darker. I used to believe all of this and when I was young I truly took it to heart. When I couldn't be what was considered beautiful it added to a belief that I was unworthy, unwanted and unlovable. After many years of incremental changes to myself and much personal study I realised that the entire structure of beauty that we are fed has an Achilles heel. Comparison.
We are taught to exclusively reach outside of ourselves for validation, acceptance and love and this entire structure falls flat on it's face the moment we realise that those are all gifts we can only give to ourselves. The second I stopped comparing myself to those around me, the second I found the courage to truly love who I am I instinctively began to love my body. I love every toe and every finger and every remaining hair on my head. I love my arms and my legs and my belly. I love my bones and my heart and my lungs. This body is a manifestation of divine energy, it is the house of my soul, it is the vessel through which I love and create and experience, how can it be anything other than beautiful?
I find nothing more beautiful than watching mothers love their children or fathers care for their families. I find it beautiful when someone stands up for who they are and what they are and no longer apologises. I find it beautiful when people strive towards life even in the deepest of adversities. I also find the strength of those around me, you who have opened your minds and hearts and shared your stories with me, those in my business and those in my family that have overcome extremely difficult wounds and lived to not only see another day but to smile within it; you are all the definition of beauty to me. If you resonate with this then you and I are part of a growing number of people who are reclaiming what beauty is. We are standing in the very centre of it and that has given us the power to share it's essence.
Big Beautiful Love
