Imagine Dorothy at the beginning of The Wizard of Oz. Imagine there was no yellow brick road? What would she have done? Someone had to go first, someone had to pave the way and because of that she found her path. She found companions on it and she out stood her enemies. Your path has already been paved, you are already on your very own “yellow brick road” and you can and will find many teachers along it. I have only really learned from those who truly embrace what they teach. There are healers I go to to help me remain balanced, there are people I learn from who live what they know. I myself have learned the sway and importance of standing in your own truth. When I fought being a psychic my readings were inconsistent and my client base uneven. The second I truly began to embody everything that I am and every part of me being a psychic I began to hold and own a presence that energy continues to grow and expand.
Can you take love advice from someone who hasn't mastered it? Can you take sound financial advice from someone who is broke? Can you really learn from someone who hasn't done it themselves? The truth is yes, but rarely. I have found that the best teachers are those who are living what they teach. The best mentors are those who put their money where their mouth is. When someone takes the time to truly master what it is they bring to the table their energy is in such a place that those around them can't help but adopt it. I had a teacher in Penlan School called Mr Anderson. He was every bit the mad scientist physics teacher that you see in movies and television programs. He loved and embodied his work and got just as excited as his students when he got to blow things up in class or make experiments bubble and boil. He was the first person to ever mention metaphysics to me and he helped me immensely. He loved and embraced everything to do with being a physics teacher and embodied physics as a whole. His energy was intoxicating and his students constantly captivated. He not only taught me physics but an important life lesson that would take years to understand. You have to live where you are and love what you do.
When I embraced the path I was on and surrendered to it I truly learned that people follow your footsteps way more than they follow your advice. You can't energetically or emotionally invite someone to a place you've never been. When you are looking for spiritual teachers, good friends, authentic relationships, use your discerning eye. Learn someone's history before you allow them into your life. Look to see if they have learned from it. Look at the content of the energy that is brought to you. Do all you can to ensure the footsteps you are following are down your own very wonderful yellow brick road and not a path directly into someone's ego. When you are looking for teachers make sure they are they are teaching what they truly know.
