Today I thought I would share with you one of the many prayers I have written over the last few months. Now you all know that I like to pray and writing them down definitely helps me to connect. Before I share it I wanted to point out briefly that I use the words God, Universe, Creator, Nature, Prana, Mother Earth and Source interchangeably. It's all the same thing for me but feel free to choose whatever feels most approprite for you!
Let my heart be a blade of grass.
My dearest creator,
I am an idea in the mind of God
A dream in the heart of the divine
I surrender everything to you
and I live the heat of your grace
My body is the idea of boundaries
My eyes are an idea of light
My hands are the idea of expression
but all I ever express and ever work with is you.
There is no need to believe in the sands of the desert
There is no need to believe in the trees of the forests
I am the substance of everything from which it is born
and all the space in between that substance.
I am light and dark and wind and rain
I am rocks and sea and hurricanes
I am the intake of breath before life takes shape
and I give birth to myself.
Turn my hands to rivers and my mind to sun
let my heart be a blade of grass
dwell only in the best of me as I teach myself
the only truth I choose to carry;
I prefer to feel good.
Let my tongue be a tornado
and my legs be the branches of trees
let my roots dig deep into uncharted soil
and let me stand here un-swayed in knowing
that beliefs are a cage in which ideas die.
I am an idea in the mind of god
a dream in the heart of the divine
with each breath and turning of the earth
Creator, hold your heart in mine.
