Are you off center?

Every now and again you need to remind yourself about what is important to you. You need to remind yourself of what your dreams are and if what you are currently doing is all you can do to bring them about. As a multi passionate person I can often send myself hurtling off in a direction that is not in alignment with who I am. I want to do everything that I want to do and I want to do it now. I am every bit the typical impatient artist type and my only saving grace is that I have to meditate every day for my work and the by product of that keeps me in check. The silence of my mind in those moments realigns me with what I am here to do. The silence can sometimes be uncomfortable especially if I am at a time when my mind is racing or when I my ego is manifesting something that I am experiencing as resistance. When I persist the silence wins and there is room again in my mind for peace to flourish. It is in the active space of this peace that I have clarity enough to see what in my life needs readjusting and what needs releasing and also what needs elevating. It is in that moment that I feel most aligned wth my intuition and my inner guidance so that is the best time to act.

I sit for 10 minutes each day and allow my mind to fall silent. Thoughts inevitably show up and I observe them as they fall away into a nothingness. I don't fight or resist, I simply allow thoughts to actualise and then I surrender them. If I wander off I simply bring myself back to centre. What I have learned is that the longer you commit to this practice the longer you can stay in that space of silence. I once actively did it for about 6 months meditating for hours and hours throughout the day. It changed me completely and prepared me for service. I have recently been neglecting my practice a little and this morning I can see that it shows. I am out of routine again and I need to enforce some strict guidelines for myself over the next few weeks to pull myself back to center. I have been sugar bingeing and not going to bed on time and doing a lot of small things that are starting to have an effect so before it snowballs into “something” it's time to give myself a quick kick up the bum! During morning meditation my aunt in spirit gave me a telling off ( yes my lovely clients I get them too! ) so it's back on track for me. Luckily I have a few spare hours today to reorganise myself and ease myself back into it.

There's no point in beating yourself up for little things like this. We all do it. Even though I meditate every day, journal, create and do all the hundred and one little things designed to keep me centred I still sometimes go off path and that's O.K. These hundred and one little things ensure that I don't STAY off path for very long. Without these practices this might have taken weeks or even months to be noticed but thanks to a daily interaction with the spirits around me and a daily focus on the things that centre me it's only taken a week for me to spot that something was up. I know exactly where it all started and I know exactly what wound within my system is playing up and it's time to focus a little healing inward. It's nothing serious, a good cuppa and a yoga practice will sort it out and then back on track! If you are feeling hazy, lost, your mind is foggy, your concentration is lapsing, you aren't eating right or moving around enough or if you've stopped laughing then these are all sign that you are out of your centre. Move into it through meditation, silence, creativity and rest. That's all on my list for today!

Thank you for tuning in!
