We've all been through this at least once right?

So you've been meditating and affirming and generally taking care of yourself and now, for the first time in a long while you have found a place of peace in your life. You feel great and an overwhelming sense of opportunity and love start to burst into every corner of your life and then... a friend's life spins dramatically out of control and they bring all of it to your door, or at the very least they attempt to. Now I get it, you want to be a friend and help but you also feel the need to protect the peace you have created in your life. So what do you do? If you feel a deep soul mate connection with your friend who is howling on your sofa and you know that they aren't in the space to start chanting or metaphysically unraveling their lives then how do you help? The answer is, you help from where you are. You help from a place of empowerment. You help from the space of your peace. When you first start walking this path things like this will crop up all the time. People who are used to living in the space of chaos with you will be able to sense that you have found a way out of it and they will be drawn to you. Lead them to your peace or at least as far as they are willing to go but do NOT step into the chaos with them. Trust your gut. If it says back off and let them deal with it then do it, if it says swoop in and see what you can do then do that.

Growing up in a big, loud and messy Greek family I FULLY understand the language and dynamics of chaos. My growing up years were very much about learning how to support those around you, but it was always the kind of support that left you feeling depleted. It was the kind of support that cost you parts of your integrity. This was all written into a narrative that blankly said that you were responsible for taking care of each other. There was no mention of taking care of yourself. So a whole bunch of family members dedicated to looking after, healing, fixing, uplifting and exalting each other without looking after themselves evolved into a huge steaming pile of chaos that inevitably exploded. Exhaustion ran too deep, frustration built to extreme proportions and integrities were compromised. This is one of the many reasons I have been so dedicated to fulfilling myself first and then reaching out, because I have seen what the opposite can do. This is what you must do, even if your best friend of 20 years is sat there right now crying on your sofa. You owe it to them to bring the best of yourself to the table ( and the kleenex ).

You can't help chaos by becoming it. You can't help angry people by becoming angry with them. All you can do is listen, love, pray over them ( you may need to do that quietly ) and keep asking what they think about the situation. Keep rooting them in their own instincts and eventually, hopefully, it will stick. I've always said that your gut is a better psychic that I will ever be for you. It knows you better than I do. I get glimpses of your life, your spirit, I get to see the map of where you are going and what has been given to you to help you uplift yourself on the planet but only you really know you. Only you really understand the dynamics of your intuition and only when you surrender to it can it completely change you. That's what you can offer out to those close to you in distress. An example of what happens when you let chaos go and embrace your inner silence. You can't force it on people, they have to reach for it but if you feel guided towards helping and you are there in the moment they reach out show them the benefits of a life based in love and peace. Be the example they need you to be.

Thank you,
