There's always that point when you've written so many lists that you've listed yourself into a corner. There's that point when you've been to see 5 million psychics and you've done so much journalling that you're solely becoming a danger to the rain forest. It's time, it's time to stop questioning and re evaluating and looking for “signs”. It's that awkward and terrifying time when you have to actually start living your dream. Taking the first steps can be scary, I know because I've done it... a lot. When you have begun to figure out where it is you generally want to be within your life you have to begin the journey of actualizing it. It will scare you, it will push your boundaries and you will find 101 reasons to sit in front of the telly and emotionally atrophy. This is where good friendships come in handy. This is where you will find who has your back and who is along for the ride. The people that want you to be the best version of yourself that you can be will come out swinging for you and those that don't will sit in front of the telly with you and may even bring you a bit of cake.
Making your dream a reality is not easy. It will take meticulous dedication to self. You will see your ego in full display and you will watch every internal saboteur try their best to stop you in your tracks. I've always wondered why we fight so hard against something that we ultimately know will bring us our deepest joy. I think it's a mixture of habit and a deep fear of ownership. We seem to live in a culture these days where everything is someone else's fault/responsibility. Being raised in that type of culture we lose our connection to true adulthood. Not the adulthood that's prescribed for you but the one that is born of the idea that you have the capacity to be fully responsible for the life you are living. When people truly step into the place of creating their dreams they step into true adulthood and sometimes it's the first time ever they are in that space. I know that it terrified me when I was doing it. Ironically I had the momentum of youth to propel me into a passionate life but it took me years to craft it, hone it and take full ownership of where I was going.
If you are sat there today with a whole life ahead of you and you are at the place in your life where you have the capacity to reach for what you truly want then make a start. Take a step towards your happiness. No one on the planet can give it to you.You don't have to do it all, you don't have to get it all done and dusted in one swoop. All you have to do is make a start, a REAL start. Not just a phone call but put money down on it. Don't just look for the right gym, sign up and book a trainer. Don't just think about writing your book, do the chapter outlines and write the first 1000 words. Whatever you goal is start it now. Life is fleeting so make the most of your time here. Fill your own heart and watch how your life will rise up to meet you.
Thank you,
Big Love,
