One of the many questions I get in my job is about where spirits actually go when they leave the body. I have to say it is probably one of the most difficult questions to answer but today I am going to give it a shot. I could probably talk on this for about 6 books, never mind one blog but I hope I can give you a little heads up on how the whole things works. We've deluded ourselves into thinking that we are solid beings. We aren't. We are energy vibrating at a certain level. This gives us the ability to interact, to enjoy form and to forget for a brief moment that we are connected at all times to all things. When the body has stopped working we ease it's transition back into the Universe around us. Physical matter decays, it is reused and remade as something else in the world. Our consciousness works in a similar manner. Nothing is lost. We take it all with us when we go but even saying the word “go” implies that we are somewhere “other”. We are not. The people you love are as much around you now as they were when they were in physical form. Their selves, their minds, their love, all of it still exists just in a different state.
One of my favourite analogies is the “ice cube in a bowl”. When you put an ice cube in a bowl of warm water it will melt. It's components will spread out into the greater whole and it's form will be completely changed. It is made of the same substance as everything else around it even when it's in a different state but the second it melts it return to same state as everything else that surrounds it. It's similar with spirit, when we no longer have any use for our bodies our spirits expand back out into the greater whole of who we are. It is beyond time and space. We are the infinite. Every life you've ever lived is part of this greater whole and in the moment you surrender your body you rejoin with the vastness of your consciousness. Even after your death your work on this planet might not be done. You might need to reform part of your spirit to manifest, to communicate, to express love to those people still in their bodies. That's the big part of my work. My brain has the capacity to translate this information into a cohesive enough form to pass messages back and forth.
At a deep spiritual level we all know that life is eternal. We know that nothing is lost. We know that the overwhelming pain of grief is a spiritual falsehood and we know that we have to go through it anyway. When your bodies die you don't “go” anywhere you “become” everything. The people you love are right here with you right now. As you read this they are experiencing it with you. Those you hold in your heart you are never disconnected from. They are just existing in a different state. To them, our lives are the blink of an eye. They KNOW that they will see us again because they are seeing us now. They know that when our bodies die that we will “get it” but you don't have to go through a death experience to understand that we are connected. Not just connected, the same. Not just the same, one spirit, one mind, one experience.
