Imagine what YOUR perfect life would be? What would your routine look like? What kind of love would surround you? What would you think or feel about yourself? What would your job be? Would you have a job? Would you travel? Where would you go? What would your house look like? These are all important questions to play with and right now is a perfect time to take a closer look. Most people are chasing a dream or a life that doesn't belong to them. They are chasing THE dream, the one carefully prescribed to you by the culture you're surrounded by. The trouble is, that doesn't seem to be working for everyone. I read for everyone from every walk of life and it seems to me that even the people who have achieved this dream are still left wanting. When you get down to it each human being is a unique expression of divine energy and different things are going to tickle the fancies of every one of us. We know this, most of us even talk about it but, how many of us are brave enough to really look under the hood of our hearts and are willing enough to see what's in there?
I ask myself these kinds of questions a lot. Not because I'm unhappy or “stuck” in any kind of way it's just that I am accutely aware of how quickly we grow and change as human beings so it serves us well to check in with who we are regularly. Most religions have designated points in their rituals and routines that are designed to help you connect. Sundays for instance are treated like holy days for you to commune with God. I personally think this is a good idea, regular points in our schedule to really contemplate the big picture. To really delve into who we have become and what that means for our dreams. I have achieved most of the things I set out to do. A job I love, a boyfriend I can share my heart with, a house over looking the sea and complete creative autonomy. There have been some wonderful surprises on this journey, I didn't expect Oscar ( my dog ) or some of the wonderful people I have met as a result of allowing myself what I wanted. There have also been harsh lessons too. Friendships permanently ended, family dynamics permanently changed and facing some uncomfortable things within myself. I wouldn't give this journey up for the world and it warms my heart to know that it's not over.
My dreams these days are mainly about making subtle adjustments to what I already have. I want to serve the Universe more. I want to create more. I want to get my writing published. I want to see more places in the world. I want to upgrade my home, possibly move, I'm not sure on that one yet and I want to continue to explore the wonderful new people I am connecting with. When you achieve one dream another quickly takes it's place. You can be forgiven for sitting in amongst a life you have carefully designed for yourself and still feeling a little uncomfortable. Growing never stops. The jounrey never ends. Even after you've left your body there will still be things for you to do. I am spending some time today in quiet contemplation, figuring out where my dreams are in relation to where I am, who I am and the journey I'm on. Clarity is the essential first step in your journey so give that gift to yourself.
Thank you,
Big Love,
