Hello Loves,
We are in the inhale right now. The time when the Universe pulls back and does some serious house keeping. She’s reminding you not only about who you are but also pointing you in the direction of the talents you came here to express. So much of our society conditions us to value what we do through a purely economic prism. This is usually the first hurdle when it comes to rediscovering who what you can do. So many artists stop making art in schools because they aren’t good at representational drawing. So many musicians don’t become musicians because they play differently. So many writers, healers, mystics, engineers, mechanics, carpenters don’t get into their craft because they didn’t “qualify” for it at an early stage. And yet, the call towards it still comes.
Sometimes we have buried that call so deep that we don’t even know where the call is coming from or taking us. We just know that there is “something” we should be doing. This is the perfect time to explore that something. When I was a kid I gravitated towards all things creative. I read books ferociously. I day dreamed. I made worlds up. I created. I also had a deep and rich collection of “imaginary friends”. The building blocks of what I love to do were already in place. I am grateful that no matter what the outer world told me, I had a good mother who constantly, almost pathologically affirmed every one of my interests! I know that not everyone had that. Sometimes people are raised in ways to further their conformity and that’s a whole other layer that needs healing through. The building blocks are there though. They are innate. One of the many questions to ask if you are figuring this out is, Where do you like to play?
Your truth can never be fully suppressed. It pours out of you. You’ll find it in your day dreams, in the corners of your notebooks, in the secret life you’re living underneath this one. You’ll find it in your childhood, in your spare time and in the million and one quiet acts of rebellion that you engage in knowingly or not each day. So, if you had a magic wand, what life would you give yourself? What would your day look like? Enter a space of true play by engaging in make believe. I am not going to say to you “Then go make it happen” like a lot of other people might. I know that each life situation is different. You cant just burn it all down sometimes if you have dependants or are healing your body. There’s nuance to each exploration. I would ask you though to sift through your make believe and see if there are any clues. Breadcrumbs that your intuition may have put there for you to follow.
Take one piece of your make believe and see if you can find the time to play with the idea in your normal day. If you want to travel explore where to. How much would it cost? What attractions would you like to see? If you want to be an artist, musician, writer, craftsperson, what courses are there locally? Is there a youtube tutorial you can watch in your lunch hour? Lean into the exploring. It’s likely that there are a series of stepping stones right in front of you. Where you want to go, what you want to do might just be the next step to you finding the next great thing. Play. Don’t take it too seriously. This is a time to be soft on yourself. To go gently. To ease into the truth that is surfacing.
If you are reading this right now take the time to ponder, to wander gently through your inner landscape and find what you are curious about. What feels exciting? What feels interesting? What feels like play? Sometimes so much damage is done that our emotional recognition to all of these states can be frantic. I would lean in to the uncomfortable part of it. I would wander. Echoes of who you are will seek you out too. You haven’t got to do all of the work. Especially right now the universe is leaning towards you. Embrace her!
Big Love
