It's so easy to overlook the small moments in your life and not recognise them for their substance. We can all get so caught up in routine that a morning cuddle, or watching the sky for five minutes or even a catch up with someone you haven't seen for a while can seem really trivial but when things get quiet it tends to be those moments I like to think on. Those subtle exchanges where it's not about the conversation but about you just being there. Your presence, your connection. I love those moments and am so grateful I get so many of them. It's inspired me a lot lately to gather people in my life and share more. It's why I meet so many for coffee or throw parties at my house, I just love to get people around and connect and laugh in the process.
I heard a quote a long time ago that said “A city is the people you meet.”, and this city, my beautiful little Swansea is all the wonderful people in my life. This city is my beloved boyfriend, this city is the circle of friends I drank and laughed with on Saturday and the friends I ate with on Sunday and the friends I text first thing on Monday morning. This city is the family that surround me and the strangers who tell me the time when I ask, this city is all of you who have created a space in your life for me to be able to do what I love. I have heard so many people over the years surround themselves with negative thinking about this city but I can't do that to myself. Every inch of these streets has been fought for, bought and paid for by all of our families past and present. I choose to honour what has gone before by enjoying it as much I can now. This house I currently bought has stood here longer than I have and some day I will pass it along to the next person. This is how I treat my Swansea. I love it and care for it the best I can because it holds all the people I love and there is a space within it where we can share that and most importantly, laugh!
Big Love
